on romans 11:32.

i was reading in romans at the end of chapter eleven where paul is explaining how all of israel will be saved. he says, “israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of gentiles has come in. and so all israel will be saved…”

again, speaking of israel paul says, “just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their [israel’s] disobedience, so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you.”

however, then paul says something peculiar: “for God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.”

now, i don’t consider myself a universalist, but i thought about this saying and found that it challenged some of what i held to be true.

thoughts anyone?
